Tare (aka Container Weight)

Overview

The Tare key allows entering a tare weight. The tare weight is subtracted from the gross weight before pricing calculations are performed. Tare weights use the scale unit of measure defined in Company Setup to distinguish between pounds (lb.) or kilograms (kg.). Pounds are rounded at 2 decimal places while kilograms are rounded at 3 decimal places.

Key Sequence

Before weighing or manually entering a weight, enter the weight of the container and then press the Tare key. Decimal places are not implied. When the item is weighed or a weight is manually entered the tare weight will be subtracted from the gross weight before pricing calculations are performed.

Examples in pounds:

.03 [ TARE  ]  (enters a tare weight of .03 lb.)
